Cold press machines are primarily used to press and form materials in industrial production. The preparation methods directly affect material density, strength, and surface quality. Following proper procedures not only enhances product performance but also extends equipment lifespan and reduces production costs.

 

First, selecting suitable materials and molds is essential. Choose metal powders, composite materials, or lightweight sheets based on product requirements, and select molds that match the size and strength needed. Mold surfaces should be clean and smooth to ensure uniform forming during pressing.

 

Second, material pre-treatment is crucial. Powdered materials should be thoroughly mixed and, if necessary, dried or heated to remove moisture and impurities. Sheets or composite materials should be checked for thickness, flatness, and surface quality to ensure smooth pressing.

 

During the loading stage, materials should be evenly placed into the mold to avoid gaps or uneven stacking. For multilayer materials, arrange layers according to process specifications to achieve consistent structure and uniform density in the finished product.

 

During pressing, apply appropriate pressure and hold time based on material characteristics and product requirements. Hydraulic presses use fluid pressure for uniform application, mechanical presses transmit force through mechanical systems, and pneumatic presses control the process with air pressure. Apply pressure gradually to ensure smooth forming and prevent cracks or uneven density.

 

After pressing, release the pressure slowly, remove the product, and perform necessary post-processing such as deburring, surface polishing, or further heat treatment. Recording preparation parameters and operating conditions regularly helps optimize the process and improve product consistency.
